It's so nonsensical to say flow is a myth, hahaha...

But yeah, I see you had a horrible experience but all that crap you went through is not prescribed by the Scrum Guide. It's all about pro-collaboration, although it can easily be turned into pressure and forced work.

When I conduct a daily, for instance, I spend the first 15 minutes talking about what matters to the whole team and let people go immediately, continuing it only with those in need of additional info. (I know how awful it is to have a huge backlog waiting for you and then there's someone talking about a reality show or some backend stuff not even god understands.)

It's also an awful practice to have a daily that early since many people will have trouble getting to work in time. Here our squads either do it at 10 or 11 — or leave it to the end of the day — so everyone is always present unless there's some accident.

I know it may sound empty to you at this point in time, but here's a thing: regardless of the process, it's people that often suck. (As your PM.)

That would probably be a bad place to work regardless of what methodology you guys followed.
